A week ago, I started research to write a book on asteroid mining developments. As one of my college projects, writing this book will hopefully give me a head start on the knowledge to go into the field with an open mind and great ability. This quote exemplifies the mindset I’m working with going forward.

Seeing many of my friends succeed should be motivating for me, but sometimes I feel that I fall backwards until I remind myself that everyone starts with different resources. I need to take advantage of what I have and believe in myself; only then can I also succeed.

While anyone can say that they will improve and set goals for themselves, it’s the results that matter. Last year, I told myself that raising my GPA would be my primary goal due to it dropping after my first two semesters of college. While I did accomplish this goal (3.4 to 3.52), I realized that I neglected many things during this time, notably my social presence. This year, I will not only maintain my GPA, but also get more involved in activities through the ISS organization and its members. I look forward to meeting everyone as the semester starts up.

While harsh, the reality of many— myself included— is that comfort presides over social interactions. They more I learn about others, the more I discover about myself. Nothing comes to me unless I let it in, whether it be new friends, ideas, or knowledge. Bring something new to the table that outshines everything on it.

Even now, in a position when I worry about finance and living the next year, giving up is not the way. I must build and grow myself, and adapt to my environment. The world won’t stop for anyone.

A quote shared with me by a friend. The future of the aerospace industry in space and outwardly expanding can only be determined by the motivations of great minds. No matter the circumstances, I will always believe in a brighter future.

I came across these words simply scrolling through LinkedIn. I think that self-confidence and acceptance are key features of happiness. It is always better to realize how you can build yourself before you try to change; planning is key.

As an individual, no one is “big enough” by themselves. However, a collective of people all working towards common good means that a society can contribute to its own development even through individual acts. I believe that as I strive to be a better person and to grow myself, the world grows alongside me.

Even though we as humans have an inherently divisive culture, there are opportunities for humanity to come together as one. Humanity’s future is, after all, decided on whether or not we can get along. I believe that humanity will find common ground in its expansion into space.

A core belief of mine is that you can do anything should you set your mind to it. The ones who dream the biggest dreams achieve the biggest accomplishments.
